For this week’s classmate conversation, I talked with Erika Perez. You know, the sophomore-film student that inspired our first Extra Credit opportunity. We talked about pieces of art that we would like to share with the world. As a film student, Erica said that she would want more people to know about Classic Film, because it is dying out. She said that its important to keep the classics around because many people try to mock the classics, but the parodies or pieces that are inspired by the classics don’t have as much meaning. Back when the classics were created they had put more meaning into them because that’s the life that inspire the art.
Erica said that she would be supportive if her child wanted to pursue a career in art. Her reasoning was because she herself is in the Film Program of Art at CSULB and she would want the same support herself. She believes that art is a good field of work to take on and even if it isn’t a film career, any type of art would be a great vessel of work.
Erica and I only had one app on our phones that was the same because she recently went to a concert and had little space on her phone, so deleted all her apps except Snapchat. I have a bunch of random apps. Some of the different apps that I had were Netflix, Twitter, Uber, Swarm, WordPress, and Quizlet. We ended our Classmate Conversation with another flower crown selfie and called it a day.
